Who We Are

Skelly & Couch is a dynamic firm of building environment and services engineering consultants based at Union Wharf near Old Street, London’s vibrant hub for design-led businesses and home to many of our creative partners. We also have an office in Bristol. The practice was founded in 2007 and is run by Directors Mark Skelly, Tristan Couch, Mark Maidment, Stephen White and Stephanie Skelly. The firm has grown steadily over the past 15 years through mainly repeat business, and now has a 30-strong staff team. The company successfully transitioned to Quality Management ISO 9001 and Environmental ISO 14001 standards in March 2017*.

As a leader in our field, the ethos of the practice is to support the design and construction of sustainable buildings which not only use less energy, but perform environmentally and socially; are capable of being efficiently maintained and operated; and have the flexibility to stand the test of time for future generations.

The primary market focus of the practice is to provide fully co-ordinated, sustainable design solutions for bespoke projects with a construction value of between £1 million and £50 million. Our projects have won a range of architectural and sustainability awards. Skelly & Couch won the prestigious Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) 2015 Business Services Excellence Award (companies with up to 250 employees) for its mechanical, electrical and environmental design work, a year after having won the ACE Project Design Excellence Award. 

The company has earned a top 50 ranking in Building magazine’s Good Employer Guide for three consecutive years.
