Devendra received a BSc (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a Diploma in Industrial Studies from the University of Loughborough.  He started work with Ove Arup as a Graduate Engineer in their London office and subsequently progressed to become a Senior Electrical Engineer.  Whilst working at Arup, Devendra worked on new and refurbishment projects within the UK, Europe, Middle and the Far East, and was deployed to local offices in these countries.

Whilst in the Far East, Devendra left Arup to join Flack + Kurtz in Hong Kong as a senior associate to work on projects in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.  In 2004, Devendra returned to London and joined Hoare Lea as an Executive Engineer before joining Skelly & Couch LLP as an Associate in early 2013.

Devendra’s projects at Skelly & Couch include the redevelopment of the Farmiloe Building in Clerkenwell; Richmond Adult Community College; a new swimming pool for Alfriston School; and a new Free School in Hackney.

Past related projects include the complete refurbishment of the 1914 Alhambra Theatre in Bradford; new offices and conference facilities for the Ministry of Finance, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; a 600-bed General Hospital in Sharjah, UAE; a new media centre development in Germany comprising radio and TV broadcasting studios, rehearsal rooms, library, cafe and bar; new teaching accommodation and lecture theatres for the School of Humanities, Manchester University; a 350m Communications Tower for the Ministry of Defence and Private Enterprise in Indonesia; and a new power and fibre optic cable manufacturing facility in Indonesia.

Other previous projects include a new 12,000m2 medical research building for Imperial College London; the refurbishment of the Student Union Building at Imperial College; the redevelopment of the East Wing of Somerset House (Grade I listed) to create a 70,000 sq ft modern teaching facility and support areas for King’s College London; the fit-out of a 41,500 sq ft laboratory and office facility within a new speculative shell and core building; a major data centre fit-out for BP in Canary Wharf; the technical review of the UBS data centres in Seoul, Tokyo and Taipei (5 sites); and 350,000ft2 of high-quality refurbishment of three buildings within the London Bridge City site.

In addition to running projects, Devendra takes a lead within the practice on Electrical Design Quality and Innovation and contributes to training, the setting of design standards and project reviews.
