Skelly & Couch projects have scooped eleven RIBA Regional Awards 2021.

The latest prize catch is a RIBA London award for Turner Works’ Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

It follows a hat trick of three RIBA East special awards for Marks Barfield’s Cambridge Central Mosque, including Building of the Year and Project Architect of the Year, in addition to the main prize.

Last month the Malthouse at The King’s School in Canterbury by Tim Ronalds Architects won the main accolade plus two of the special awards for the South East region’s Building of the Year as well as its 2021 Conservation Award.

The International College at The King’s School by Walters & Cohen Architects was also honoured with an award.

Another outstanding Skelly & Couch project, Brighton College School of Science and Sport by OMA, was given a RIBA South East Award.

Continuing the winning streak, the new student residential building by Allies and Morrison at 400-year-old Wadham College was given an award by RIBA South.

Anticipation rises as regional award winners will now be considered for the highly prized RIBA National Awards, to be announced on Thursday, 9 September.

The shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize for the best building of the year will be drawn from the RIBA National Award-winning projects later in the year. The Stirling Prize winner will be announced on Thursday, 14 October.

Owing to the pandemic, the 2021 RIBA UK Regional Awards are being selected from the shortlists for the 2020 RIBA Regional Awards.
