The revived Brutalist icon Preston Bus Station by John Puttick Associates has swept the boards in the top architectural critics' reviews of the year. Jonathan Glancey for the BBC's worldwide selection of 'a great year in architecture' said the project, for which Skelly & Couch carried out full environmental design, is 'Throughout ...a meticulous and thoughtful renewal and remodelling'. The Observer's Rowan Moore described the building as one of a number of 'concrete marvels formerly threatened with obliteration'.
